The July issue of Shueisha's Ribon magazine will announce on June 3 that Yūko Kasumi and Yasushi Akimoto's Marimo no Hana: Saikyō Butō-ha Shōgakusei Densetsu shōjo manga will end in the following issue on July 3. Akimoto is best known for creating and producing the all-female idol group AKB48.
The story of the manga centers around Marimo Nogami, a usually quiet fourth-grade girl in elementary school. However, a certain incident leads to Marimo's personal strength blossoming.
The manga was adapted into an original anime video and screened at the Ribon Haru no Event in 2012. The manga launched in Shueisha's Ribon magazine in 2010. The ninth compiled volume was released on March 14.
The magazine also confirmed that Mayu Murata's Nagareboshi Lens shōjo manga will end in the same issue.
