Though You May Burn to Ash Manga's Kakashi Oniyazu Passes Away

The official Twitter account of Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine announced on Tuesday that artist and manga creator Kakashi Oniyazu passed away on February 2.
In a post on their Twitter account on January 26, Oniyazu stated that they were suffering from a paroxysmal atrioventricular block, and was recommended by a doctor to undergo surgery for a pacemaker.
The editorial department of Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine also announced that Oniyazu's ongoing manga Though You May Burn to Ash (Tatoe Hai ni Natte mo) has been canceled. The manga's 56th chapter, which debuted in the magazine's fourth 2019 issue on February 1, will serve as the manga's final chapter.
Oniyazu launched Though You May Burn to Ash in Young Gangan in December 2015. The manga's fourth volume shipped last July, with the sixth volume slated for April 25. Yen Press is releasing the manga in North America, and released the fourth volume on February 19.
Oniyazu most recently launched the manga adaptation of Masamune Kuji and Tsukune Taira's Ecstas Online light novel series in Monthly Dragon Age in August 2017. That manga series is currently ongoing,
Oniyazu also previously drew the Date Ast Like (Date a Strike) spinoff manga of Koushi Tachibana and Tsunako's Date A Live light novel series in Monthly Dragon Age from 2012 to 2014.
