posted on by Andrew Osmond
Anime Limited has announced on its website that it has acquired the feature film Fusé: Memoirs of a Huntress. It will be released in Collector's Edition Blu-ray/DVD combi and Standard Edition DVD formats, provisionally in August. The Collector's Edition will have an SRP of £34.99, and £19.99 for the DVD.
Adapted from the novel Fuse Gansaku: Satomi Hakkenden by Kazuki Sakuraba (Gosick) , the story is a period/fantasy adventure set in the city of Edo in which the female hunter Hamaji pursues 'Fuse,' hybrids of dogs and humans - but ends up befriending one of them.
The Japanese publisher Bungeishunjū produced the film as its 90th anniversary commemorative project. Masayuki Miyaji (Xam'd: Lost Memories) debuted as a theatrical anime film director with a script by Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion). Designers Okama (Evangelion remake films) and Seiichi Hashimoto (Xam'd: Lost Memories) and composer Michiru Ōshima (first Fullmetal Alchemist anime) also contributed.
