DMM's Powerchord Studio and Brownies announced on Thursday that their English-language release of Egglia: Legend of the Redcap is slated for this August. The game will be available for iOS and Android in North America, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, "many other" European countries, Southeast Asia, and "beyond."
Powerchord Studio began streaming an English-language trailer on Thursday:
Powerchord Studio also posted a special English-subtitled interview with the game's creator and art director Shinichi Kameoka (Mana series, Mother 3), producer Michio Okamiya, composer Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, Mana), and background designer and Brownies co-founder Koji Tsuda.
The companies describe the RPG's story:
In Egglia: Legend of the Redcap, players follow the story of a gentle elf named Chabo who mysteriously falls from the sky and arrives on the continent of Egglia. Players will uncover the mystery of Chabo and Egglia as they explore and uncover new areas of the world sealed away within eggs. Players will develop the world of Egglia through building houses, summoning spirits, warding off monsters and forming alliances with other races. Once all of Egglia has been restored, players can continuously explore and build throughout the world and new episodes are planned for future release.
Brownies (Mother 3, Fantasy Life) and DMM.com Powerchord Studios co-developed the game, which originally launched in Japan on April 13 for iPhone and Android. Brownies announced an "Episode 2" DLC in April.
