Anime NYC to Host Voice Actor Tohru Furuya

The staff of Anime NYC announced on Thursday that voice actor Tohru Furuya will make his first appearance in New York City at this year's convention. Furuya will appear at the event on November 16-17, and he will participate in on-stage events and signings.
Furuya's voice-acting career extends more than 50 years, and he has performed in more than 100 titles. He is known for voicing characters such as Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon, Amuro Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam, Yamcha in Dragon Ball, and Rei Furuya in Detective Conan. His anime roles also include Sabo in One Piece, Pegasus Seiya in Saint Seiya, Kyosuke Kasuga in Kimagura Orange Road, and Ribbons Almark in Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
Furuya is the convention's first Japanese guest this year. He will join American voice actors such as Max Mittelman, Ray Chase, and Robbie Daymond.
The convention will be held at the Javits Center from November 16-18. Crunchyroll is the convention's title sponsor, with Aniplex, Funimation, Viz Media, GKIDS, Kinokuniya Bookstore, Kodansha Comics, New York Asian Film Festival, Sentai Filmworks, Subway Cinema, Sunrise, Tokyo Otaku Mode, Vertical, and Yen Press also listed as sponsors.
